Meet the Executive Team

The CSCS Group Executive team provide support and administrative assistance to CSCS Cards Ltd, while also licensing the logo to and providing support to the 38 members of the CSCS Alliance.

Sean joined CSCS in 2022, having previously been Managing Director and founder of Thought & Impact – a management consultancy working to increase Social Impact and stimulate Thought Leadership for charities, social enterprise and the public sector.

He has spent the last 15 years of his career in areas related to skills and qualifications, with over 25 years’ experience in business start-up, change management and project management in the charitable and local government arenas.

Julie has worked with CSCS since 2013 and joined the team in 2019. Julie has over 30 years of experience handling the financial affairs of companies across a wide range of sectors, including manufacturing, engineering and construction. She is responsible for managing CSCS’ accounts.

Alan joined the CSCS team in September 2014.  He previously managed the strategic communications for a number of nationally significant infrastructure projects. Prior to that, he worked in corporate communications and external affairs.

His focus is on reinforcing CSCS’s position within the UK construction industry and maximising awareness about the scheme to industry stakeholders. He is responsible for leading the development and implementation of all communications activities including  media relations, public affairs and stakeholder engagements.

Matt joined CSCS in November 2023. He previously worked in various data roles within New Zealand Government departments. At CSCS his focus is on creating reports and analysing data to support the construction industry in identifying skills and funding gaps. Matt is also responsible for maintaining and improving the usability and effectiveness of CSCS’ data.

Matthew joined the CSCS team in July 2021. He previously worked in Media Relations for the Institution of Civil Engineers. His main focus at CSCS is to maximise awareness of the scheme and reinforce CSCS’s position and reputation within the construction industry.

Matthew is involved in the development and implementation of all communications activities including stakeholder engagements, event planning and industry research. He is also responsible for CSCS’s website content and social media activity.

Marc joined CSCS in 2024 and leads primarily on the industry’s transition to CSCS Smart Check. Marc has a wealth of experience in client relations and recently worked for CIRAS (RSSB), promoting their confidential health and safety reporting service.

Marc will liaise with both employers and CSCS IT partners to drive industry’s transition towards CSCS Smart Check.

Andy joined CSCS in January 2024. He previously worked as a social media manager for Flanders Investment & Trade – UK. His role at CSCS is to use their digital channels to maximise awareness of the scheme and reinforce CSCS’s position and reputation within the construction industry.

Andy is involved in the development and implementation of digital marketing strategies to support the work of the communications department and wider organisation.
