CSCS Group Annual Review 2025: Digital skills passports, smarter checks, better insights for industry

  • CSCS Group Annual Review 2025:...

CSCS Group has published its Annual Review for 2025 – a year in which the card scheme celebrated its 30-year anniversary.

The past 12 months have marked 30 years of CSCS supporting higher standards, safer sites and a more professional construction workforce, while also setting out the next chapter of its digital transformation.

At the centre of that transformation is My CSCS – the Digital Skills Passport for CSCS cardholders. Relaunched in 2025, the app brings together a worker’s digital CSCS card, verified qualifications, and additional training in one secure, portable record that can move with them from site to site and role to role.

Supporting this at the gate is CSCS Smart Check – industry’s ‘border control’ technology, providing instant verification of CSCS-logoed cards and helping reduce paperwork while speeding up onboarding.  Smart Check continues to scale across UK construction, with 34 million scans in 2025, plus 118 service users and 26 IT partners, enabling integration into site access and workforce systems.

In addition, by combining pseudonymised data from across the CSCS Alliance with Smart Check verification patterns, CSCS is providing an illustrative picture of workforce trends, qualification levels and training gaps – helping policymakers, clients and contractors target effort and investment where it will have the greatest impact.

The insights draw on data from 37 CSCS Alliance members, covering over two million cardholders and more than 1,500 occupations across construction and the Built Environment.

Read all about CSCS’ Digital Skills Passport infrastructure, as well as other achievements over the past 12 months and priorities for the coming year in the CSCS Group Annual Review 2025.
