A highly experienced and respected leader in the UK construction and engineering sector, I have served as Chief Executive Officer of the Thermal Insulation Contractors Association (TICA) since 2013. With a proven
track record of impartial leadership, sector-wide collaboration, and public advocacy, I am well positioned to provide the strategic direction, independence, and authority required of the Chair of the CSCS Alliance Forum.
Relevant Experience
Chief Executive Officer, TICA (2013–present)
• Provide strategic leadership to the UK’s sole trade association for industrial and commercial insulation, representing contractors and advancing industry standards.
• Oversee governance frameworks, compliance, and stakeholder engagement, working closely with the TICA Governing Council, the National Joint Council of Engineering Construction (NAECI) and the Engineering and Building Services Skills Alliance (EBSSA).
• Champion competence, safety, and professional recognition, advocating for high standards in skills and training across the built environment.
• Lead TICA’s engagement with government, regulators, and industry bodies, including Build UK and Construction Industry Collective Voice (CICV), Ofsted, Ofqual etc., where TICA’s expertise supports policy, sustainability, and sector-wide collaboration.
• Publicly represents the sector, contributing to national debates on the Building Safety Act, skills policy, and the importance of accredited competence schemes – for example CSCS. Board and Committee Roles
• Active participant in industry alliances and working groups, including the CSCS Alliance, CICV, Chair of the Insulation and Environmental Training Trust (IETTL) in addition to sector competence and framework initiatives.
• Experience in impartial governance, audit, and compliance through oversight of TICA’s quality and environmental management systems.
