TWI Certification Ltd (TWI Cert), the awarding body behind the Certification Scheme for Welding and Inspection Personnel (CSWIP), has confirmed that CSWIP will be leaving the CSCS Alliance.
The change does not affect welders’ ability to gain or renew a card. Existing CSWIP CSCS cards will remain valid until expiry and will continue to verify via CSCS Smart Check.
Going forward, CSWIP and BGAS-CSWIP certificate holders will be able to apply for, or renew, their card directly through CSCS Cards, ensuring continuity of recognition across the industry.
Cardholders can apply and manage their card through the My CSCS app, which also gives access to My Skills – allowing individuals to log and evidence their qualifications and training history in one place.
Sean Kearns, Group Chief Executive of CSCS, said: “We’re grateful to TWI Cert for its many years of collaboration within the CSCS Alliance, and for the professional and constructive way this transition has been handled. Welders continue to have a clear, simple path to the right CSCS card, helping to evidence they have the appropriate training and qualifications for their role on site.”
